ABOUT ME

My name is Maria Dowd and I am excited to become an elementary school teacher!  Prior to starting my undergraduate degree, I taught preschool in Ohio for 2 years within a private school setting and then my family moved to Connecticut in 2019.  I am currently enrolled as a graduate student in Elementary Education at Eastern Connecticut. 

I always knew I wanted to be a teacher.  I love making learning fun for others to help them develop the love of learning.  More importantly my goal is to help students achieve academic success and to instill the love of learning for life.  

I was born in America, raised in Australia since I was four years old, and have traveled to most countries.  My husband and I have a house full of 5 children, ages ranging from 8 to 17 years old.  As a family, we enjoy helping our community, hiking, swimming, and definitely traveling!
